Language Items :  Please. / Thank you.  (3)

Activities :  Writing cards.

1."Hello!  It's December.  I'm looking forward to the Christmas days.  Have you sent your Christmas cards?"  The students don't know what the cards are.  The new year cards are much more important for the Japanese people.

2."Today, I'd like you to send me a card.  You can choose the Christmas card or the new year card." Put some sample cards on the board.  Let the students prepare their pencils and color pencils.  Pass the students postcards.  The students will ask you what they should write.  They should write some greetings in hiragana or katakama.  It's OK to draw some pictures.

3."Start writing your Christmas card or new year card."  Give the students some advice to write a card when they wonder which one to take.

4."I have my Christmas cards for you.  May I have your name again?"  Pass the student your card with your signature and the student's name.  These activities will be the  review for "Please. / Thank you.".

5."Have you finished?  Can I collect your cards?"  Some students take a long time to finish their works.  They may hand in the cards to  their classroom teacher.

6."What are you going to do on your winter holidays?  I will return to Australia.  I wish you, a merry Christmas!"
