Activities : Writing cards.
1."Hello! It's December. I'm looking forward to the Christmas days. Have you sent your Christmas
cards?" The students
don't know what the cards are. The
new year cards are much more important for the Japanese people.
2."Today, I'd like you to
send me a card. You can choose the
Christmas card or the new year card." Put some sample cards on the
board. Let the students prepare
their pencils and color pencils.
Pass the students postcards.
The students will ask you what they should write. They should write some greetings in
hiragana or katakama.
It's OK to draw some pictures.
3."Start
writing your Christmas card or new year card." Give the students some advice to write a card when
they wonder which one to take.
4."I
have my Christmas cards for you.
May I have your name again?"
Pass the student your card with your signature and the student's
name. These activities will be
the review for "Please. /
Thank you.".
5."Have
you finished? Can I collect your
cards?" Some students
take a long time to finish their works.
They may hand in the cards to
their classroom teacher.
6."What
are you going to do on your winter holidays? I will return to Australia. I wish you, a merry Christmas!"
